Join us on Wapato Island Farm for a hands-on tasting workshop and learn how to make delicious and nutritious staples of Mexican cuisine!

In this class, we will introduce you to some essential Mexican foods: beans, tortillas, and salsas. Jennifer Rose Marie Serna and Corry Hinkley will teach you how and why to soak your beans, how to make corn tortilla dough, and the elements of tasty salsa for your table. We will go over good places to source your ingredients, the significance of corn to people over time, how to prepare a salsa that will make everything taste good, and lots more! Enjoy a delicious tasting menu to glimpse the wide range of food these basic techniques can enable you to make. You will leave with recipes and lots of resources if you want to learn more. We will be both indoor and outside if weather permits, so please dress accordingly.

Sliding scale payment option: $45-75 for 3 hour workshop. BIPOC + financial hardship scholarships available upon request.
